This field includes the total amount of money that customers or other parties owe to the company for promissory notes minus the amount that the company thinks it may not collect. Promissory notes are written promises to pay a certain amount of money by a certain date. This field does not include notes that will be paid in more than a year or notes that related companies owe to the company. This field is a short-term asset on the balance sheet.
