The amount of cash generated or used by a company’s investing activities during a given period. Investing activities include cash transactions involving property, plant, and equipment, business acquisitions, investments in subsidiaries, associates, joint ventures, and other securities, and lending and collecting money. Cash from investing activities is one of the three main categories of cash flows reported in the cash flow statement.
