Description
The amount of net cash generated by a company’s normal business operations during a specific period. Cash from operating activities reflects the company’s ability to generate sufficient cash to maintain and expand its operations. Cash from operating activities is calculated by adjusting net income for non-cash items, such as depreciation, amortization, deferred taxes, stock-based compensation, and changes in working capital. Cash from operating activities is reported as the first section of the cash flow statement.
