The amount of cash payments for repaying short-term debt. Short-term debt includes borrowings with a maturity of less than one year, such as commercial paper, bank overdrafts, and lines of credit. Repayments of ST debt are a use of cash that decreases the cash balance of the company. Repayments of ST debt are reported in the cash flow from financing activities section of the cash flow statement.
