Business
Greenyard NV engages as a global market leader in the supply of fresh, frozen, and prepared fruits and vegetables, flowers, plants, and related logistics services to major retailers, foodservice operators, and industrial clients. The company operates through three primary divisions: Greenyard Fresh, which provides fresh fruits and vegetables, pre-cut salads, flowers, plants, and fresh produce logistics; Greenyard Frozen, offering frozen fruits, vegetables, herbs, and plant-based snacks under brands including Pinguin; and Greenyard Prepared, delivering preserved fruits and vegetables, soups, sauces, dips, pasta dishes, ready-made meals, and ambient products. Headquartered in Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Belgium, and founded in 2015 through the merger of Univeg, Pinguin, Noliko, and related entities with roots tracing to 1965 and 1983, Greenyard conducts operations across approximately 21 countries, with significant sales presence in Europe including Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, and other regions, alongside activities in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. Recent strategic developments include a March 2025 partnership with Sligro Food Group designating Greenyard Fresh Belgium as the exclusive supplier of potatoes, unprocessed fruits and vegetables, and cut vegetables for Sligro's Belgian operations, enhancing its foodservice channel penetration; a strengthened joint venture with Bardsley England to bolster its UK fresh produce position; an acquisition of a dairy-free ice production facility to expand pure-plant frozen snacks; and a July 2025 takeover by the Deprez family through Garden S.à r.l., supported by Solum Partners, securing over 94% ownership at EUR 7.4 per share, culminating in a September 2025 squeeze-out and delisting from Euronext Brussels, transitioning the company to private ownership while targeting EUR 5.4 billion in annual sales and EUR 200-210 million adjusted EBITDA by March 2026.
