SPDR FTSE UK All Share UCITS ETF (FTAD.L) (the Fund) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the FTSE All-Share Index, which represents the broad UK equity market comprising all eligible companies listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange that pass FTSE's size and liquidity screening criteria. The Fund employs a physical replication strategy via optimized sampling, holding a representative selection of approximately 519 constituents from the benchmark's over 550 stocks across all market capitalizations, including large-cap (FTSE 100), mid-cap (FTSE 250) and small-cap names; it distributes dividends semi-annually with a total expense ratio of 0.20% p.a. Sector allocations emphasize financials (approximately 23%), consumer staples (16%), industrials (16%) and health care (10%), with top holdings such as AstraZeneca PLC, HSBC Holdings Plc, Shell Plc, Unilever Plc and Rolls-Royce Holdings plc comprising nearly 40% of assets under management, which total around GBP 100 million. Domiciled in Ireland and UCITS-compliant, the Fund lists primarily on the London Stock Exchange in GBP (ticker FTAD), with additional listings on Deutsche Boerse (ZPRD), SIX Swiss Exchange and Xetra; it engages in securities lending with counterparties including Barclays, BNP Paribas, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs. Launched on 26 April 2018 and managed by State Street Global Advisors Europe Limited (investment advisor) under the SSGA SPDR ETFs Europe I plc umbrella, with State Street Fund Services (Ireland) Limited as administrator and custodian, the Fund operates without currency hedging and targets institutional and retail investors seeking diversified exposure to UK equities. State Street Global Advisors, the Fund's promoter and a division of State Street Corporation, maintains its global headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. In recent years, the Fund's benchmark underwent a structural reclassification effective 22 March 2021, when FTSE transitioned to the updated Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB) framework, renaming "Oil & Gas" to "Energy," elevating "Real Estate" as an 11th industry separate from Financials, and redefining "Consumer Goods/Services" as "Consumer Staples/Discretionary." At the issuer level, State Street Global Advisors withdrew from the Climate Action 100+ initiative in February 2024, citing misalignment with its independent voting and stewardship approach amid reported U.S. political pressures, while facing criticism for limited support on certain environmental and social shareholder resolutions. The Fund continues to exhibit stable assets under management growth and close tracking to its benchmark, with no reported acquisitions, funding rounds, new product launches or reorganizations specific to FTAD.L in the last 1-2 years.
