iShares $ High Yield Corp Bond UCITS ETF (IHYA.L) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Markit iBoxx USD Liquid High Yield Capped Index by investing primarily in U.S. dollar-denominated, fixed-rate high yield corporate bonds issued by companies in developed markets globally. The fund employs a representative sampling methodology to replicate the index, focusing on high yield securities rated BB+ or below by S&P and Fitch or Ba1 or below by Moody's, with a minimum time to maturity of 1.5 years; its portfolio comprises over 1,200 holdings, including top positions such as OneMain Finance Corp (approximately 3%), Celanese US Holdings LLC (approximately 3%), United Rentals (North America) Inc (approximately 3%), and Tenet Healthcare Corp (approximately 3%). Launched on September 13, 2011, and listed on the London Stock Exchange under ticker IHYA since April 13, 2017, the ETF is managed by BlackRock Asset Management Ireland Limited, with co-management by BlackRock Financial Management Inc., BlackRock (Singapore) Limited, and BlackRock Advisors (UK) Limited, and is domiciled in Ireland. The ETF offers investors exposure to the fixed income high yield segment across diverse sectors including energy, healthcare, consumer goods, and telecommunications; it is available to institutional and retail investors in Europe, the UK, and select other regions including Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands. Shares trade on multiple exchanges such as the London Stock Exchange (USD), SIX Swiss Exchange (CHF), Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (MXN), Bolsa de Valores de Colombia (COP), and Santiago Stock Exchange (USD), providing liquidity and accessibility in various currencies. The fund maintains an accumulating share class with a total expense ratio of 0.50% and assets under management exceeding $2 billion. Originally known as iShares II Public Limited Company - iShares Markit iBoxx $ High Yield Capped Bond Fund, the ETF underwent a name change to its current designation as iShares $ High Yield Corp Bond UCITS ETF to reflect its focus on USD high yield corporate bonds. No major acquisitions, partnerships, funding rounds, or new product launches specific to this ETF have been reported in the last 1-2 years; it continues to operate steadily under BlackRock's management framework, with ongoing portfolio rebalancing to align with the benchmark index amid evolving market conditions. Performance updates as of late 2025 show a one-year total return of approximately 8% and inception-to-date annualized returns around 4%, reflecting resilience in the high yield bond sector.
