Global X AgTech & Food Innovation UCITS ETF (KROP.L) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide investment results corresponding to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Solactive AgTech & Food Innovation Index. The ETF tracks companies positioned to benefit from advances in agricultural technology (AgTech) and food innovation, including precision agriculture technologies such as GIS software, hardware, soil and water sensors, weather tracking and satellite imaging; robotics and automation encompassing farming drones, autonomous equipment for irrigation, soil management, pollination, harvesting and processing; controlled environment agriculture like vertical farming and hydroponics; agricultural biotechnology; plant-based or molecular-based alternative proteins and dairy; and food waste reduction systems including blockchain-based tracking, monitoring and preservation technologies. It is an accumulating fund with a total expense ratio of 0.50% p.a., unhedged currency risk in USD, and full replication of the underlying index, domiciled in Ireland with listings on exchanges including the London Stock Exchange (KROP.L).
Launched on 15 February 2022, the ETF is issued and managed by Global X ETFs Europe, part of Global X Management Company LLC, a New York-based provider founded in 2008 and headquartered at 605 Third Avenue, New York, NY. The fund targets global investors seeking exposure to AgTech and food innovation themes across developed and emerging markets, with top holdings typically including Kubota Corp., Nutrien Ltd., Corteva Inc., Deere & Co., and Hebei Yangyuan ZhiHui Beverage Co Ltd., representing over 50% of the portfolio. Geographic operations span worldwide equities, with significant allocations to U.S., Japanese, Canadian and Chinese companies.
