Business
Minbos Resources Limited (ASX:MNB) is an Australia-based exploration and development company focused on building a nutrient supply and distribution business to stimulate agricultural production and promote food security in Angola and the broader Congo Basin. The company primarily develops the Cabinda Phosphate Project, which produces low-cost phosphate fertilizers under the Prosper Primeiro brand, including single superphosphate (SSP) and customized blends of phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, and sulphur tailored for smallholder and commercial farmers; and the Capanda Green Ammonia Project, which aims to produce carbon-free green ammonia for nitrogen fertilizers and mining explosives using modular renewable solar-powered technology. Operations target the agricultural inputs industry, serving farmers across Angola through established distribution networks and major customers such as Grupo Carrinho, with geographic focus on Angola and Middle Africa. Founded in 2009 and headquartered at 10 Outram Street, Level 2, West Perth, Western Australia 6005, the company listed on the ASX in October 2010 and maintains no subsidiaries or parent relationships. Recent developments include a non-binding collaboration agreement in June 2024 with Talus Renewables to deploy modular green ammonia technology at Capanda under a build-own-operate model, reducing capital funding needs; a July 2024 memorandum of understanding with Foskor for phosphate rock testing; an exclusive partnership announced in August 2025 with Fertiafrica for fertilizer granulation; a subscription agreement with the Angolan Sovereign Wealth Fund (FSDEA) for a strategic equity stake of US$10-15 million; progression of a US$21.5 million debt facility with South Africa's Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), increased to US$16 million with a seven-year term in 2024-2025 updates; firm commitments for a $4.4 million placement in December 2024 to advance Cabinda construction, green ammonia, and Lobito distribution; and ongoing field trials with evolving fertilizer formulations as Angola's only domestic producer.
