Schneider Electric S.E. (SU.PA) is a global leader in energy management and automation, providing integrated solutions that electrify, automate, and digitalize industries, businesses, homes, buildings, data centers, factories, infrastructure, and power grids. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of intelligent devices including circuit breakers, switches, sockets, sensors, PLCs, motor starters, drives, UPS systems, transformers, and substations; software-defined architectures and AI-powered systems such as the EcoStruxure platform; digital services for energy optimization and sustainability; and expert advisory services focused on performance, resilience, and efficiency. Founded in 1836 and headquartered in Rueil-Malmaison, France, Schneider Electric S.E. has evolved from its origins in mechanical engineering to become a multinational corporation specializing in electrical equipment, digital automation, and sustainable energy technologies. In recent developments, the company signed an agreement in July 2024 to acquire an additional stake in Planon, increasing its ownership to a controlling 80% in the smart building management software provider to bolster its agnostic software offerings; announced in November 2024 the acquisition of the remaining 35% stake in Schneider Electric India Private Limited (SEIPL) from Temasek for €5.5 billion, achieving full ownership of its key Indian subsidiary following the 2020 L&T Electrical & Automation integration; and committed to a $700 million investment in U.S. manufacturing expansions across multiple sites to meet rising demand in data centers, AI, utilities, and grid infrastructure.
