Kolon Industries, Inc. (120110.KS) manufactures and sells advanced industrial materials, chemicals, films and electronic materials, and fashion products primarily in South Korea and internationally. The company produces polyester and hybrid tire cords, airbags, technical yarns, aromatic polyamide fibers such as aramid, artificial leather including chamude and synthetic suede, spunbond nonwoven fabrics under the Finin brand, membrane humidifiers, polymer electrolyte membranes, membrane electrode assemblies, vent components, car seats, interior materials, polyester films, nylon films, metalized prism films, transparent polyimide films, panel materials, hydrocarbon resins, phenolic resins, epoxy resins, polyurethane resins, and PET resins; it also offers outdoor, sports, golf clothing, menswear, womenswear, kids clothing, lifestyle products, accessories, workwear, unisex and premium products, and cosmetics through approximately 30 brands including Kolon Sport, alongside on/off retail stores. Founded in 1957 as Korea Nylon Inc. in Daegu, South Korea, and headquartered at Kolon One&Only Tower in Seoul's Gangseo-gu, the company operates production facilities and sales offices across Asia including China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and the Philippines, with a focus on automotive, high-performance industrial, and chemical applications for global clients. In recent developments, Kolon Industries merged with Kolon Glotech's automotive materials and components business in 2025 to bolster expertise in customized solutions for next-generation mobility; agreed in November 2025 to acquire the remaining 33.32% stake in Kolon ENP for KRW 99 billion to consolidate engineering plastics operations; formed a joint venture with SK Microworks in 2024 investing $94 million in industrial films; partnered with Ballard Power Systems in December 2025 to expand hydrogen fuel cell business in Korea; and relocated its headquarters and R&D center to Magok, Seoul in 2018 while advancing aramid capacity, high-tech resins, and flexible display films.
