(177A.T) manufactures and sells biotechnology products including animal blood and sera; tissue culture media such as serum-free media for regenerative medicine, immunotherapy research, virus and recombinant protein production, hybridoma, human lymphocyte culture, insect cell lines, normal human cells, ES cells, in-vitro fertilization and early embryo culture kits, supplements, cell separation solutions, physiological salt solutions, and research reagents; microbial testing products comprising agar media for microorganism tests like sheep blood agar, GC chocolate agar, gram positive cocci, gram negative bacteria, susceptibility testing, differential, anaerobic growth, fungal, tube, food-related sterilization test, E. coli and coliform bacteria, staphylococcus spp., bacillus cereus, vibrio parahaemolyticus, total viable cell count, campylobacter mediums; in-vitro diagnostic agents; cosmetics; laboratory animals; and medical equipment, with services encompassing animal immunization, antibody preparation, import/export operations, and contract cell processing for cancer immune cell therapy under the Regenerative Medicine Safety Act. The company, founded in 1981 and headquartered in Sakado-shi, Saitama, Japan, maintains branches in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka, with consolidated subsidiaries including En Bio’s Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, Kohjin-Bio Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China, Kohjin Bio Holding (Hong Kong) Limited, and Ajinomoto Kohjin Bio Co., Ltd., a joint venture established in 2018 with Ajinomoto Co., Inc. to produce clinical-grade cell culture media.
