Business
Kanro Inc. operates as a prominent Japanese manufacturer and distributor within the confectionery and food sector. The company's diverse product range features a variety of sweets, including traditional hard candies, specialized throat lozenges, chewy gummies, soft marshmallows, and a selection of distinctive ingredient-focused snacks. These offerings are marketed under well-known labels such as Puré Gummy, Kin no Milk, Candemina, and Kenko Nodoame, alongside other popular brand lines. Kanro also engages in direct-to-consumer sales through its HITOTUBU KANRO retail locations and digital commerce platforms. Established in 1912 and later incorporated in 1950, the company maintains its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Under its "Medium-term Corporate Strategy 2030," formulated in February 2025, Kanro is strategically expanding its domestic gummy business and accelerating its global presence, particularly in the United States, where it established Kanro America Inc. in 2025. The company plans to boost production capacity with a new gummy manufacturing line by 2027 and is focusing on product innovation, including functional additions to its hard candies and gummies. Kanro recorded strong financial performance in the first half of 2025, with increased net sales and operating profit, and implemented a three-for-one stock split effective July 1, 2025. With a target of JPY 50 billion in sales by 2030, Kanro emphasizes consumer-driven product development to forge emotional connections with its broad customer base, including a growing focus on adult and Gen Z consumers.
