Mega First Corporation Berhad, an investment holding company listed on Bursa Malaysia's Main Market (ticker: 3069), engages primarily in renewable energy, packaging, and resources businesses through its subsidiaries. The company operates three core divisions: Renewable Energy builds, owns, and operates power plants, including the 325 MW run-of-river Don Sahong Hydropower Project (DSHP) in Laos with five 65 MW turbines generating approximately 2,300 GWh annually mainly for export to Cambodia, and solar photovoltaic (PV) projects via MFP Solar Sdn Bhd offering CAPEX-free commercial and industrial solutions with 31.3 MWp installed capacity and 63.2 MWp under development in Malaysia and the Maldives; Resources quarries limestone and manufactures high-purity quicklime, hydrated lime, calcium carbonate powder, and bricks through subsidiaries like RCI Lime Sdn Bhd, Cheng Sun Industries Sdn Bhd, and Anting Sendirian Berhad, exporting two-thirds of production across Asia-Pacific; Packaging produces printed labels, stickers, paper bags, flexible packaging materials, biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) films via Hexachase Group (Hexachase Labels, Packaging, Flexipack) and Stenta Films, serving food and beverages, FMCG, electronics, and retail industries in over 20 countries. Additional activities encompass food security through farming and wholesaling fruits and vegetables; property development and investment; and other ventures including medical centres and automotive components. Incorporated in 1966 and headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, the group maintains primary operations in Malaysia and Lao PDR, with presence in Cambodia, Maldives, China, India, Australia, and New Zealand. Recent developments include the July 2024 commissioning of DSHP's fifth turbine; December 2024 signing of a 25-year Supplemental Concession Agreement with Lao PDR government and Supplemental Power Purchase Agreement with Electricité Du Laos extending to 2049 with revised tariff and take-or-pay terms; May 2024 acquisition of 40% effective stake in CSC Agriculture Holdings Sdn Bhd group adding over 1,100 acres of farmland in Johor and Pahang; 2024 expansions at Stenta completing a new LLDPE factory boosting capacity to 35,000 tonnes annually, Hexachase Packaging adding high-speed machines and warehouse space, and Hexachase Flexipack inaugurating a facility to double output to 20,000 tonnes; plus initiation of 51 MWp and 11.4 MWp solar projects slated for 2025 completion.
