Business
Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Limited (KIMS Hospitals) operates a chain of multi-specialty hospitals providing integrated tertiary and quaternary healthcare services across more than 25 specialties, including cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, organ transplantation, renal sciences, mother and child care, neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonology, rheumatology, robotics, urology, critical care, emergency and trauma services, interventional cardiology and oncology, and advanced diagnostics such as MRI, CT scans, and laboratory medicine; the company maintains NABH and NABL accreditations and is listed on the National Stock Exchange of India. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Bhaskar Rao Bollineni with its first hospital in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, KIMS Hospitals is headquartered in Secunderabad, Telangana, and serves patients primarily in tier-2 and tier-3 cities across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, with a network exceeding 8,300 beds including its flagship 1,000-bed facility in Secunderabad. Recent expansions include new hospitals in Nashik (Maharashtra, 2024), Kannur (Kerala, 2024), Guntur (Andhra Pradesh, 2025), Sangli (Maharashtra, 2025 via partnership with UAIMS Hospital including a call option for majority stake), Kollam (Kerala, 2025), Thane (Maharashtra, 2025), and Bangalore (Karnataka, 2025 with a 450-bed multi-specialty facility); acquisitions such as Chalasani Hospitals in Visakhapatnam (2024 for Rs 28 crore), Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur (2022), and others like AsianTranscare and MIPPL in Hyderabad (2024); launches of advanced services including AI-based early warning systems (2025), paediatric cardiac surgery, ECMO, liver transplants, cancer centres, and expansions adding over 1,500 beds in locations like Bengaluru, Ongole, Anantapur, Kondapur, and Rajahmundry.
