Founded through the 1975 merger of Pernod Fils (established 1805) and Ricard (established 1932), Pernod Ricard maintains headquarters in Paris, France. Recent strategic shifts include the April 2025 completion of its divestiture of strategic international wine brands such as Jacob’s Creek, Campo Viejo and Brancott Estate to Australian Wine Holdco to sharpen focus on premium spirits and champagne; a major August 2025 transformation of U.S. route-to-market strategy under new Chief Commercial Officer Paul Basford, establishing RTD and GEM divisions with enhanced distributor partnerships including Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits and Republic National Distributing Company; a September 2024 global partnership as official champagne and spirits provider for Paris Saint-Germain across football and handball teams; an August 2024 minority stake acquisition in non-alcoholic blue agave spirit Almave co-founded by Lewis Hamilton; February 2025 acquisition of South African gin Inverroche; and July 2025 sales of Irish whiskeys Clontarf and Knappogue Castle plus Indian whisky Imperial Blue. Subsidiaries encompass Chivas Brothers for Scotch whisky and gin, Irish Distillers for Jameson brands, and regional units like Pernod Ricard India and Pernod Ricard Winemakers.
