Quebecor Inc. operates as a diversified communications company in telecommunications, media, and sports and entertainment primarily in Canada. Quebecor Inc., founded in 1965 and headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, functions as the parent company of Quebecor Media Inc. and remains controlled by Les Placements Peladeau Inc. The Telecommunications segment, operated principally through Videotron Ltd. and Freedom Mobile Inc., provides mobile telephony services with over 3 million subscribers including significant market share in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia; internet access including GIGA and 2.5 GIGA symmetrical fibre plans; television distribution and over-the-top video services; wireline telephony; and business solutions including the Helix smart home platform. The Media segment, through subsidiaries such as TVA Group Inc., offers over-the-air and specialty television networks including TVA, LCN, and TVA Sports; film and television production services including soundstages, equipment rental, and postproduction at MELS Studios; printing, publishing, and distribution of daily newspapers such as the Journal de Montréal; digital news and entertainment platforms; magazine publishing; audiovisual content production and distribution; and out-of-home advertising via Québecor Affichage Neo Inc. The Sports and Entertainment segment manages show production and cultural events through Gestev Inc.; operates venues including the Videotron Centre; produces and distributes music and books; and oversees Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams. Quebecor Inc. employs over 10,000 people and focuses operations mainly on Quebec with expansion into other Canadian provinces via Freedom Mobile. Recent developments include the October 2024 acquisition of Media Group Inc.'s Canada-wide out-of-home advertising business, integrated into Québecor Affichage Neo Inc.; the June 2024 purchase of Evenma by Gestev Inc. to bolster events management; network enhancements such as 5G+ rollout with 3800 MHz spectrum by Freedom Mobile in 2025, inclusion of 5G+ in all Freedom plans, and expansion of GIGA Internet to over 350,000 additional households; the launch of Roam Beyond eSIM for international travel data in July 2025; Videotron's redemption of $400 million senior notes in June 2025; authorization of a normal course issuer bid in August 2025 for up to 1 million Class A and 5 million Class B shares; and significant donations including $10 million to Fondation du CHU de Québec in December 2024 and $20 million to Université Laval in February 2025.
