RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a Navratna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, provides broadband telecom and multimedia networks along with ICT infrastructure services leveraging its Pan-India optic fiber network spanning over 61,000 route kilometers and covering more than 6,100 railway stations; core offerings include RailWire broadband, leased lines, virtual private networks, data centers, tower colocation, e-office solutions, HD video conferencing, cyber security, signaling consultancy, Aadhaar-based services, station Wi-Fi, content on demand, railway display networks, IP-based video surveillance, national optical fiber network connectivity, national knowledge network services, and hospital management information systems primarily serving government institutions, educational bodies, corporates, banks, private enterprises, and NBFCs across India. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in New Delhi, the company operates through Telecom Services and Project Work segments with citywide access exceeding 21,000 kilometers and strategic ties to Indian Railways for mission-critical connectivity including short-haul and long-haul links. Recent developments encompass attainment of Navratna status in August 2024, a five-year strategic partnership with Microsoft announced in January 2025 to advance AI innovation in government applications, a cybersecurity alliance with Cylus in August 2024 to bolster Indian railway infrastructure, a Rs 90.08 crore ERP system contract from the Institute of Road Transport in April 2025 for three transport corporations, a Rs 210 crore order in September 2025 alongside a Rs 32.51 crore connectivity project for Panvel Municipal Corporation's Safe City initiative, and a Rs 16.31 crore supply and installation contract awarded to RTNS Technology in September 2025, contributing to a robust order book surpassing Rs 6,600 crore as of mid-2025.
