Business
Stellantis N.V. is a multinational automotive manufacturer formed in 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Groupe PSA. The company designs, engineers, manufactures, and sells a broad range of vehicles and mobility solutions globally. Its core products include passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and automotive components across a diversified portfolio of brands such as Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Opel, Vauxhall, Maserati, and more. Stellantis also offers connected services, car-sharing, leasing, and electrified vehicle technologies including battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). The company operates through six geographic segments: Enlarged Europe; North America; China; India & Asia Pacific; Middle East & Africa; and South America, with industrial operations in over 30 countries and sales in more than 130 markets. Stellantis maintains major R&D centers in Italy, France, and the United States focused on advanced EV and software development. It employs over 270,000 people worldwide and is publicly listed on the Euronext Milan (STLAM), New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and Euronext Paris (STLAP). Recent major changes include a strategic investment by One Equity Partners in December 2024, which acquired a majority stake in Comau, Stellantis's industrial automation and robotics subsidiary, with Stellantis retaining an active minority share to focus on core automotive business activities. In 2024, Stellantis accelerated its product portfolio transformation with no fewer than 20 new vehicle launches, including 10 launched in the first half of the year. Notable introductions include models based on the new BEV-native multi-energy STLA platforms such as the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, and upcoming launches between 2024 and 2026 of eight models on the STLA Large platform, including the Dodge Charger Daytona and Jeep Wagoneer S, supporting its electrification strategy. The company also launched the distribution of Leapmotor-branded electric vehicles in Europe as part of expanding its EV market reach. Strategically, Stellantis is advancing its “Dare Forward 2030” plan targeting carbon net-zero emissions by 2038, with significant investments toward electric, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle technologies. Additionally, Stellantis committed a €5.6 billion investment in South America in 2024 to introduce over 40 new products and expand decarbonization technologies in the region. Overall, Stellantis emphasizes rapid innovation in mobility solutions, electrification, and industrial automation to maintain its position as one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers by sales volume and revenue, with 2024 net revenues of approximately €59 billion and ongoing operational restructuring to enhance profitability and growth in evolving markets.
