- Vardhman Textiles Limited manufactures cotton yarn, synthetic yarn, woven fabric, sewing thread, acrylic fibre, tow and garments. The company produces specialized greige and dyed yarns in cotton, polyester, acrylic and blends including organic cotton, melange, core spun, ultra contamination-controlled, gassed mercerised, super fine, slub, cellulose and fancy yarns for hand knitting; it operates approximately 1.1 million spindles with capacity exceeding 580 metric tons of yarn per day, 1,482 looms with over 193 million meters of weaving capacity annually and 22,000 metric tons of fibre production per annum. Vardhman Textiles ranks as India's largest vertically integrated textile producer and second-largest sewing thread producer, with manufacturing facilities across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and exports to the European Union, United States, Far East, Asia and emerging markets. Incorporated on October 8, 1973 as Mahavir Spinning Mills Limited and renamed Vardhman Textiles Limited in 2006, the company is headquartered in Ludhiana, Punjab. In November 2024, Vardhman approves a Rs 350 crore expansion at its Budhni facility to boost processed fabric capacity by 31 million meters per annum to 206 million meters; it progresses with a new performance fabric plant, spindle expansions adding 56,744 equivalent spindles and Vardhman ReNova cotton recycling operations; recent recognitions include Fortune India's 2024 Employers of the Future listing and 2023 partnerships such as with NIT-Jalandhar for an M.Tech program alongside a Rs 150 crore NCD issuance.
