Shougang Century Holdings Limited is an investment holding company principally engaged in the manufacturing and sale of steel cords for radial tyres, cut wires, sawing wires and hose wires under the Eastern brand name. The company operates production facilities in the People's Republic of China, including Jiaxing Eastern Steel Cord Co., Ltd. (JESC) in Zhejiang province with an annual capacity of 80,000 tonnes of steel cords, and Tengzhou Eastern Steel Cord Co., Ltd. (TESC) in Shandong province with an annual capacity of 160,000 tonnes of steel cords; it also provides investment trading, management and consultancy services through its Shanghai-based subsidiary Shougang Century Services Holdings Limited (SCSH). Shougang Century exports its products to customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America, South America and other parts of Asia, serving major global tyre manufacturers such as Bridgestone, Goodyear, Yokohama and Hankook.
Incorporated in 1991 and headquartered at Room 1215, 12/F, Honour Industrial Centre, 6 Sun Yip Street, Chai Wan, Hong Kong, the company changed its name from Shougang Concord Century Holdings Limited to Shougang Century Holdings Limited in December 2021 to better reflect its strategic focus on high-tech manufacturing opportunities.
In recent developments, Shougang Century signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Astribot in November 2025 to explore robotic tendon-rope technology, announced a 50-50 joint venture with RZHL in September 2025 to establish a European steel cord production base as part of its internationalization strategy targeting over 50% overseas revenue, completed a non-underwritten rights issue in June 2025 raising funds for global expansion after two prior rounds totaling HKD 277 million, commenced a share buy-back program in July 2025 for up to 10% of its issued share capital, and implemented a share consolidation with board lot size change approved in November 2025.
