Yip's Chemical Holdings Limited Yip's Chemical Holdings Limited (SEHK: 0408), an investment holding company founded in 1971 and headquartered in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, produces and sells petrochemical products including solvents, coatings, inks, lubricants, and related items in the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, and international markets. The company operates through Solvents, Coatings, Inks, Lubricants, and Properties segments; the Solvents segment manufactures industrial organic solvents such as ethyl acetate, normal butyl acetate, mixed butyl acetate, ethanol, and butyl acrylate for use in coatings, tannery, medicine, and adhesives industries, with a significant 24% stake in Handsome Chemical, the world's largest acetate solvents producer; the Coatings segment provides architectural coatings like inner and outer emulsion wall paints, floor coatings, art coatings, faux stone paints, wood paints, waterproofing materials, and auxiliary products under brands including Camel, Aquapro, Bauhinia, and VIVA, alongside industrial coatings for furniture, toys, and plastics, plus acrylic, water-based, alkyd, polyester resins, and polyurethane curing agents; the Inks segment produces gravure, offset, screen, and UV printing inks plus solvents and processing materials under the Bauhinia Variegata brand, which holds the top position in China by sales revenue; the Lubricants segment supplies automotive and industrial lubricants encompassing engine oils, antifreezes, system coolants, brake oils, lubricating greases, gear oils, automatic gearbox oils, and hydraulic oils under the Hercules brand, as well as specialty lubricants under the Pacoil brand for electronics, home appliances, automobiles, bearing manufacturing, engineering machinery, steel, port terminals, cement, toys, textiles, and metal processing; and the Properties segment invests in real estate while the company also trades coatings, solvents, resins, sanitizing products, and offers treasury and car maintenance services. Yip's Chemical Holdings Limited maintains leading positions in China through subsidiaries such as Yip's Ink & Chemicals Group (No.1 inks), Hang Cheung Coatings and Bauhinia Advanced Materials Group (top coatings), Da Chang Polymers (specialized resins), and Yip's Lubricant, with production plants across major provinces and approximately 2,500 staff serving construction, toys, electronics, furniture, food, gift packaging, printing, automotive, and industrial sectors. In October 2025, the company announced the acquisition of approximately 60% equity interest in Beijing Sino-Hypro Petrochemical Tech. Co., Ltd. for up to RMB384 million including a contingent component, marking entry into chemical vapours emissions management systems for petrochemical, coal chemical, oil depots, and shipping terminals to support environmental protection and strategic diversification; it also deepened lubricants focus on niche industrial oils and anticipates enhanced vertical integration from Handsome Chemical's new Hubei plant in second-half 2025.
