(NASDAQ: NXPI; LSE: 0EDE.L) designs, manufactures and markets semiconductors and software solutions that enable secure connections in automotive, industrial and IoT, mobile, and communications infrastructure markets; core products and services include automotive processors and microcontrollers supporting advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), vehicle networking and functional safety; industrial and IoT solutions featuring low-power microcontrollers, crossover processors such as i.MX RT series, secure elements, sensors and wireless connectivity including NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE; secure identification solutions encompassing NFC chips for contactless payments, access control and eGovernment applications such as electronic passports and MIFARE contactless cards; RF components and power management ICs; edge AI processors including neural processing units (NPUs); battery management systems with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS); and application processors like i.MX 94, i.MX 95 and S32M2 series. The company, spun off from Philips and founded in 2006, maintains headquarters in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and operates wafer fabrication facilities in the United States, Netherlands and Singapore alongside assembly sites in Asia; it employs about 34,000 people across more than 30 countries and generates revenues exceeding $12.6 billion annually serving customers including automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, industrial automation firms and consumer electronics makers. Recent developments include the completion of acquisitions of Aviva Links for $243 million in October 2025 to enhance Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA)-compliant in-vehicle connectivity and Kinara for $307 million to bolster high-performance programmable NPUs for AI at the edge in automotive and industrial & IoT markets; introduction of the i.MX 95 applications processor series and EIS-capable battery management chipset; and an agreement for STMicroelectronics to acquire portions of its MEMS sensor business for up to $950 million, expected to close in 2026.
