Illinois Tool Works Inc. Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW) manufactures a diversified range of highly engineered industrial products and equipment across seven segments including Automotive OEM, Food Equipment, Test & Measurement and Electronics, Welding, Polymers & Fluids, Construction Products, and Specialty Products; core offerings encompass plastic and metal components, fasteners and assemblies for automotive applications; warewashing, cooking, refrigeration and food processing equipment with integrated service; testing and measurement equipment, electronic assembly tools, static control consumables and pressure sensitive adhesives; arc welding equipment and metal consumables; industrial adhesives, sealants, lubricants, epoxy coatings, hand cleaners, auto aftermarket fluids and marine repair products; engineered fastening systems, anchors, metal truss components and retail hardware; as well as beverage packaging systems, product coding equipment, appliance components and airport ground support gear. Founded in 1912 and headquartered in Glenview, Illinois, the company operates 86 divisions in 51 countries, employing approximately 44,000 people and serving end markets such as automotive OEMs, food service, general industrial, construction, energy and consumer durables with a focus on customer-back innovation driven by its proprietary 80/20 business model. Recent developments include the January 2024 acquisition of a Test & Measurement and Electronics business for $57 million and an April 2024 acquisition in the same segment for $59 million; the August 2024 sale of its noncontrolling equity interest in Wilsonart International Holdings LLC to affiliates of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for $398 million, generating a pre-tax gain of $363 million; and expansion of domestic manufacturing capabilities at ITW EAE's Camdenton, Missouri facility with production of USA-built Vitronics Soltec Centurion reflow ovens, MPM Momentum II elite printers and HiE stencil printers as of November 2025, alongside plans for additional Centurion model configurations through mid-2026.
