Business
Skechers U.S.A., Inc. designs, develops, markets and distributes lifestyle and performance footwear, apparel and accessories for men, women and children worldwide. The company offers core products including lifestyle lines such as Skechers USA, Skechers Sport, Slip-ins, D'Lites and the charity-focused BOBS from Skechers; performance categories encompassing GOwalk, GOrun, GOtrain, GOgolf, Skechers Cricket, Skechers Football and Skechers Basketball; workwear under Skechers Work; and additional branded items like Mark Nason footwear, eyewear, scrubs and licensed apparel through partnerships including John Deere for lifestyle and work footwear and the Rolling Stones for collaborations. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Manhattan Beach, California, Skechers operates approximately 5,300 company- and third-party-owned retail stores across roughly 180 countries, with distribution channels spanning domestic wholesale to department, athletic and specialty retailers; direct-to-consumer via e-commerce and owned stores; and international wholesale representing over half of total business, supported by logistics facilities in North America, Europe, China, India, Central America, South America and Asia. In a major strategic shift, the company completed its acquisition by 3G Capital in September 2025 for approximately $9.4 billion, transitioning from public to private ownership after nearly 26 years on the New York Stock Exchange and delisting to pursue long-term growth initiatives; recent expansions include new performance product launches in cricket, soccer and basketball, the opening of its first Skechers Performance store in Canada with pickleball and basketball courts, ongoing global store openings targeting 180-200 new locations in 2025, and investments in distribution infrastructure, omnichannel capabilities and technology to support $10 billion annual sales ambitions.
