Alamos Gold Inc. engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of gold and other precious metals primarily in Canada and Mexico. The company operates mines including the Island Gold District and Young-Davidson in northern Ontario, Canada; Mulatos District in Sonora State, Mexico; and Magino in Ontario, Canada; producing gold doré bars and refined gold bullion along with silver by-products for sale to refineries, financial institutions, central banks, investment markets, and industrial users. Founded in 2003 through the merger of Alamos Minerals Ltd. and National Gold Corporation, Alamos Gold maintains headquarters in Toronto, Ontario, at 181 Bay Street, Suite 3910. In 2024, the company completed the acquisition of Argonaut Gold Inc. for US$325 million, gaining the Magino mine and establishing operational synergies projected at US$515 million while spinning off certain Argonaut assets into a new entity; acquired Orford Mining Corporation to add the Qiqavik project; and in 2025 announced and closed the sale of its Turkish development projects (Kirazlı, Ağı Dağı, and Çamyurt) to Tümad Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. for total cash consideration of $470 million, receiving an initial $160 million payment, alongside the sale of the Quartz Mountain option in Oregon to Q-Gold Resources Ltd. for up to $21 million and a 9.9% equity stake. Alamos Gold advances growth initiatives such as the Phase 3+ Expansion at Island Gold, with shaft sinking to 98% completion as of Q3 2025 and full completion targeted for H2 2026; the Lynn Lake project in Manitoba, now slated for H1 2029 startup following delays; and an Expansion Study for the Island Gold District due Q1 2026 evaluating mill capacity increases to 18,000-20,000 tonnes per day.
