Business
China Qidian Guofeng Holdings Limited (1280.HK) is an investment holding company engaged in specialty retail of household appliances, mobile phones, computers, imported and general merchandise, and liquor in the People's Republic of China. The company operates through the Household Appliance Business segment, which includes retail and bulk distribution sales of products such as Midea air-conditioners through a chain of physical stores and online platforms, along with maintenance, installation, and after-sales services; the Liquor Business segment, which focuses on trading of liquor; and the Education Business segment, which provides education-related training services for small and medium-sized enterprises; it also offers logistics, warehouse, and community services. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Shenzhen with operations primarily in Jiangsu, Anhui, and other regions of China, the company employs approximately 280 people and targets both retailers, distributors, and end consumers. In December 2023, it changed its name from Qidian International Co., Ltd. to its current name; in 2024, it acquired Shengshang Entrepreneurial Services, a training services provider, for HK$340 million via share issuance, which boosted revenue by 38% to 441 million yuan but resulted in a 2.23 billion yuan net loss due to goodwill impairment; in July 2025, it signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire an undisclosed AI technology company providing AI-driven enablement services for HK$350 million to HK$500 million through new share issuance to support its online-merge-offline consumption platform strategy, with a formal agreement deadline within three months.
