Business
ProLight Opto Technology Corporation (5277.TWO) researches, develops, manufactures, and sells LED packaging products primarily in Taiwan. The company offers a comprehensive range of high-power LED solutions, including LED emitters (such as HV LED and AC LED in wattages from 0.2W to 400W), COB light engines for high flux density applications, LED chips, and phosphor formulations; these products serve diverse categories like entertainment and stage lighting, architectural and general indoor/outdoor lighting, commercial lighting, handheld lights, automotive lighting, UV and IR applications, plant growth lighting, and special-purpose lighting. ProLight Opto Technology focuses on mid-to-high-power, high-reliability LED packaging with superior optics and heat dissipation, targeting customers in commercial, industrial, automotive, and horticultural sectors globally. Founded in October 2004 and headquartered in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, the company operates as a key member of Ennostar Inc., having joined the group in 2021. In February 2025, Ennostar announced a strategic acquisition to increase its ownership in ProLight Opto from 53.69% to 100% through a tender offer at NT$9 per share, aiming to enhance value-driven applications in automotive lighting, advanced displays, intelligent sensing, professional lighting, and optical communications under its "3+1" development strategy; this move supports potential privatization and delisting from OTC trading. The acquisition leverages ProLight Opto's compound semiconductor expertise to deepen group synergies in LED packaging for high-growth markets.
