Business
Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC operates a portfolio of premium managed pubs and hotels, as well as tenanted inns, across southern England; it offers fresh seasonal food, an extensive range of drinks including award-winning ales, craft lagers and ciders, and accommodation in individually designed bedrooms at its managed properties; core offerings encompass chef-led menus, event hosting including weddings and business meetings, and unique experiences such as outdoor theatre and opera performances. The company, founded in 1845 and headquartered at the Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, London, manages 185 pubs and hotels with over 1,000 bedrooms primarily in London and the South East, while its 153 tenanted inns operate under lease agreements with third parties targeting local consumers and visitors. Fuller, Smith & Turner focuses on affluent markets within the M25 and southern regions from Brighton to Birmingham, delivering high-quality pub, dining, and lodging services through an estate of mostly freehold properties. Recent developments include the completion of a £185 million unsecured bank facility in March 2025 maturing in 2028 at improved terms; acquisition of the freehold White Swan pub in Twickenham and Lovely Pubs group of seven sites for £22.5 million; divestitures of 37 non-core tenanted pubs to Admiral Taverns for £18.3 million and The Mad Hatter for £20 million to optimize its estate; completion of a 6.5 million 'A' share buyback at an average £6.13 per share followed by a new programme for up to one million shares; full buy-in of its defined benefit pension plan with Legal & General; and £28 million invested in 14 transformational schemes including The Drayton Court and a fully electric Head of the River hotel.
