Business
Aeris Resources Limited Aeris Resources Limited (ASX: AIS) is a mid-tier Australian base and precious metals producer and explorer headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, with operations spanning New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria; the company, incorporated in 2010 and formerly known as Straits Resources Limited until its name change in December 2015, engages in the production, sale and exploration of copper, zinc, gold and silver concentrates. Its core assets include the Tritton Copper Operations, an underground copper mine in the Cobar region of central New South Wales supplemented by the new Murrawombie open-pit mine; the Cracow Gold Operations, an underground gold mine in central Queensland featuring recent mill upgrades with a new cyclone circuit for improved gold recovery; the Jaguar Zinc and Copper Operations, an underground zinc, copper and silver mine in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields region; the North Queensland Copper Operations encompassing the Mt Colin underground copper mine and Barbara development project; and the Stockman Copper and Zinc Project, a development-stage asset located 300 kilometers northeast of Melbourne. The company targets base metals markets with a copper-dominant portfolio, serving global smelters and refiners through its centralized processing hubs and hub-and-spoke models, while maintaining approximately 1,091 employees and emphasizing lean operations, aggressive exploration and strategic growth. Recent developments include the divestment of non-core North Queensland copper assets to Dingo Minerals in October 2025 for environmental bonds worth $6.5 million, $4-5 million cash on completion and a $3 million deferred payment, enhancing its balance sheet; a successful $80 million institutional placement at $0.45 per share completed on 31 October 2025 with settlement on 5 November 2025, followed by a $10 million non-underwritten Share Purchase Plan open until 2 December 2025; repayment of the approximately $40 million WHSP loan facility using placement proceeds to achieve a debt-free position with $62 million cash; and advancements in growth projects such as open-cut mining at Murrawombie Pit with probable reserves of 1.34 million tonnes of copper ore, early works at the Constellation deposit, resource extension drilling at Tritton, and additional exploration at Cracow's Golden Plateau and Southern Vein Field.
