Andhra Cements Limited, a subsidiary of Sagar Cements Limited, manufactures and sells cement and cement-related products including ordinary Portland cement (OPC), Portland pozzolana cement (PPC), and clinker from its integrated clinker plant at Durga Cement Works (DCW) in Dachepalli, Palnadu District, Andhra Pradesh, with a capacity of 1.80 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), and its grinding unit at Visakha Cement Works (VCW) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with a capacity of 0.80 MTPA; the company markets its SAGAR CEMENT brand primarily in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with additional sales to neighboring states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Odisha through approximately 770 authorized stockists, direct sales, and contract sales to government projects and large infrastructure developments. Incorporated on December 9, 1936, and headquartered in Hyderabad, India, the company operates two plants with strong rail, road, and sea connectivity for domestic distribution. In a major recent development, Sagar Cements Limited acquired 95% shareholding for Rs 322.25 crore pursuant to the National Company Law Tribunal-approved resolution plan in February 2023, assuming management control in March 2023 following insolvency proceedings and a shutdown from February 2020 to March 2023; the company subsequently restarted operations, expanded clinker capacity from 1.65 MTPA, proposed a rights issue of up to Rs 210 million in 2025 to bolster finances alongside plans to sell unused land parcels, and continues production under the Sagar Group with recent board approvals for financial results and strategic meetings as of October 2025.
