Business
Applus Services, S.A. (Applus+) operates as a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, providing asset integrity management, engineering consultancy, non-destructive testing, laboratory analysis, homologation, product certification, and technical assistance to industries including energy, renewables, infrastructure, automotive, oil and gas, aerospace, and power; it serves clients through divisions such as Energy & Industry, Laboratories, IDIADA (automotive engineering and testing), and vehicle inspection solutions encompassing driver testing, off-lease inspections, road safety education, and emissions checks. The company maintains operations across more than 65 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa, with a workforce exceeding 28,000 employees. Founded in 1996 in Barcelona within the Agbar Group and headquartered in Madrid, Spain, Applus+ listed on the Spanish stock markets in 2014 following periods of expansion and ownership changes. Recently, in September 2025, Applus+ signed a definitive agreement to acquire APEM Group, a UK-based environmental consultancy with operations in Ireland, Australia, the Middle East, and the US, for approximately £335 million, aiming to establish a new global Environmental Services business focused on water, renewables, infrastructure, and regulatory advice, with the transaction expected to close by year-end subject to approvals; this move builds on prior strong organic revenue growth of 55% from 2021-2024 and continued expansion in sustainability offerings.
