Business
Carindale Property Trust holds a substantial stake in Westfield Carindale, a prominent retail and lifestyle hub situated in an affluent south-eastern suburb of Brisbane, roughly 12 kilometres from the city centre. This significant property effectively serves a broad trade area, encompassing over 700,000 residents, with a wider accessible market of 1.4 million people due to convenient links via the nearby Gateway Motorway. As a leading destination for shopping and leisure, Westfield Carindale hosts a comprehensive array of Australia’s most recognised retailers, including flagship stores like David Jones, Myer, Kmart, Big W, Target, Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, and Apple, complemented by numerous premium fashion brands. The centre’s diverse offerings are further enriched by approximately 370 specialty stores, an Event Cinemas complex, and a luxurious Glasshouse Dining Precinct, while the adjacent Carindale Home & Leisure Centre provides extensive bulky goods retail options. The Trust, whose primary activity revolves around this long-term property investment, is skillfully managed by Scentre Management Limited, a division of the Scentre Group. Recent operational highlights from 2024 saw customer visits reach 14 million, with annual retail sales exceeding $1.09 billion, reflecting robust performance and an impressive occupancy rate of 99.9%. The Trust reported strong financial growth for the 2025 financial year, with revenue increasing by 6.4% and net profit (excluding unrealised fair value movements) seeing a significant rise of 413.6%.
