Business
Colefax Group PLC Colefax Group plc engages in the design, marketing, distribution, and retailing of luxury furnishing fabrics, wallpapers, trimmings, upholstered furniture, and related products primarily to interior designers and retail shops serving the high-end residential market. The company operates through two main divisions: the Product division, encompassing the Fabric division with its portfolio of five distinct brands--Colefax and Fowler, Cowtan and Tout, Jane Churchill, Larsen, and Manuel Canovas--which offer styles ranging from classical to contemporary; and the Furniture division featuring Kingcome Sofas; and the Decorating division, trading as Sibyl Colefax and John Fowler, which provides interior and architectural design, project management, decoration, furnishing services, and antiques sales for private individuals and commercial clients. Colefax Group PLC, founded in 1933 and headquartered at 19-23 Grosvenor Hill in London, United Kingdom, maintains an expanding worldwide distribution network with offices and showrooms in the UK, USA (its largest market at 62% of Fabric division sales), France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, sourcing products from over 120 third-party manufacturers mainly in Europe and India while conducting all fabric and wallpaper production externally. In recent developments, the company completed a £2.4 million share buyback via tender offer in October 2024, purchasing and cancelling 307,043 shares at £7.80 each to enhance earnings per share; launched another tender offer in October 2025 through Peel Hunt LLP to repurchase up to 15% of its issued share capital under shareholder authority granted at the September 2025 AGM; reported fiscal year 2025 results ending April 30, 2025, with group revenue up 2.6% to £109.99 million, pre-tax profit up 15.1% to £8.90 million, and net cash rising 25.6% to £22.3 million, driven by 7.8% constant currency sales growth in the Fabric division particularly in the US; and anticipates higher capital expenditure in fiscal 2026 for new showrooms in Florida and relocation to new London head office premises.
