Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Reading, Berkshire, UK, Cohort plc operates primarily in the defence and security sectors across the UK, Germany, Portugal, Australia, NATO Europe, Asia, and South America, targeting naval, military, government, and critical infrastructure customers. The subsidiaries function independently to foster agility and innovation while benefiting from the group's shared expertise, market access, and governance.
In November 2024, Cohort plc completed its largest acquisition to date with the purchase of Australian-based EM Solutions, enhancing its naval defence offerings in satellite communications and strengthening its Australasian presence amid growing Indo-Pacific security demands and the AUKUS alliance. This followed strong FY2024 results with revenue growth, record order intake exceeding £120m in early FY2025, and an order book surpassing £559m as of September 2024. Recently, the group signed a memorandum of understanding with Hanwha Ocean to pursue Thai frigate and export shipbuilding programs, showcased technologies at Indo Pacific 2025 in Sydney, and celebrated success at the AIM awards.
