Business
EML Payments Limited EML Payments Limited (ASX:EML) provides payment solutions platforms, including prepaid cards, digital wallets and open banking integrations, across Australia, Europe and North America. The company operates in three main segments: General Purpose Reloadable, offering reloadable cards and related issuance, processing and program management services to industries such as government, salary packaging, gaming and digital banking; Gift and Incentives, providing single-load gift cards for shopping malls and incentive programs; and Digital Payments, facilitating real-time transactions, payouts, rewards, supplier payments and contactless solutions via robust APIs. EML Payments generates revenue primarily from transaction fees, breakage on inactive accounts, cash establishment fees and interest on debit volumes; it serves diverse customers including banks, retail brands, government entities and financial services firms from its headquarters in Brisbane, Australia, where it was founded in 2001. Recent strategic changes include the divestiture of non-core assets such as Sentenial (including its Nuapay open banking platform) to GoCardless in 2024, completion of UK regulatory remediation efforts, leadership refresh with new CEO Ron Hynes and executive appointments to drive the EML 2.0 growth strategy, addition of 28 new clients in FY25, augmentation of credit facilities by $55 million with extended terms, a global Visa PISMO partnership for backend banking enhancements under Project Arlo, and joining the National Automotive Leasing and Salary Packaging Association as its first payments member.
