Business
Global Dividend Growers Income Fund (GDG-UN.TO) is a closed-end investment trust that provides unitholders with stable monthly cash distributions, grows distributions over time, and seeks long-term total return through capital appreciation of its portfolio. The Fund invests approximately 30% to 70% of its assets in an equally weighted, passively managed, diversified portfolio of equity securities from publicly listed global issuers exhibiting cumulative dividend growth of approximately 10% over the prior five-year period and an indicated dividend yield of approximately 3%; it allocates the balance of its assets to an actively managed portfolio of global dividend-growing equities. Its investments span multiple sectors including technology, utilities, consumer discretionary, financials, healthcare, communication services, consumer staples, and industrials. Managed by Middlefield Limited and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the Fund targets income-oriented investors seeking exposure to global public equity markets without direct sector or geographic restrictions beyond its dividend growth criteria. In May 2024, the Fund announced a normal course issuer bid authorizing the repurchase of up to 550,180 trust units, representing 9.9% of its public float, to enhance unitholder value amid market conditions. The Fund, headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, operates primarily from Canada with a global investment focus and maintains ongoing monthly distribution payments to support its income objectives.
