- GHCL Limited manufactures soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, and industrial and edible salts in India. The company produces light and dense grades of soda ash under the LION brand for use in detergents, glass, ceramics, soap, pulp and paper, and other industries; sodium bicarbonate in food, feed, technical, and pharma grades for bakery, pharmaceuticals, fire extinguishers, and cleaning agents; and edible and industrial salts under the i-FLO and Sapan brands, including refined iodised salt, crystal salt, herbal salt, and iron-fortified variants. Incorporated in 1983 and headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with key facilities in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, GHCL operates lignite mines in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, and a soda ash plant in Sutrapada, Gujarat, with 1.2 million MTPA capacity; it expands this capacity by 0.5 million MTPA by end-2025, plans a Rs 350 crore salt field in Kutch and a Rs 6,500 crore greenfield 1.1 million MTPA soda ash project in Kutch, and announced a Rs 300 crore equity buyback in November 2025 at Rs 725 per share. In October 2024, GHCL partnered with GreenLine for sustainable logistics to cut Scope 3 emissions; it also collaborates with AuthBridge for supplier ESG compliance. The company serves domestic and export markets in chemicals and consumer products segments.
