Gland Pharma Limited, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Hyderabad, India, manufactures and markets generic injectable pharmaceuticals with a focus on complex sterile injectables for oncology, ophthalmics, and other therapeutic areas including anti-diabetics, anti-infectives, anti-neoplastics, and blood-related treatments; its core offerings encompass liquid vials, lyophilized vials, pre-filled syringes, ampoules, infusion bags, and drops, with ongoing development in peptides, long-acting injectables, suspensions, hormonal products, pens, and cartridges. The company operates seven manufacturing facilities in India, provides contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) services, and supplies products to over 60 countries across the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, India, and other markets through a primarily business-to-business model, supported by majority promoter Shanghai Fosun Pharma. Recent developments include the 2023 acquisition of Cenexi to bolster European CDMO capabilities, leadership changes with Srinivas Sadu as Executive Chairman and Shyamakant Giri as CEO effective January 2025, a 250% expansion of GLP-1 cartridge production capacity from 40 million to 140 million units announced in 2025 alongside the launch of partnered GLP-1 product Liraglutide, multiple US product approvals and launches such as Eribulin in 2024 with six complex injectables launched and three pending as of early 2025 addressing a $6.5 billion market opportunity, and 20 Ready-to-Use infusion bag filings with 14 approvals targeting $659 million in US sales.
