Grifols operates over 400 plasma collection centers worldwide, 15 industrial facilities across seven countries including a flagship plasma fractionation site in Clayton, North Carolina, and maintains a direct presence in more than 30 countries while serving over 110 markets, with a workforce exceeding 23,800 employees. Founded in 1909 in Barcelona as a clinical analysis laboratory and headquartered in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain, the company focuses on therapeutic areas such as immunology, infectious diseases, pulmonology and critical care. Among its latest major developments, Grifols invests EUR 160 million in a new manufacturing facility in Lliçà de Vall, Barcelona, set to double European plasma fractionation capacity by 2030 and create over 400 jobs; reaffirms 2025 guidance following strong 2024 results with revenue growth and reduced leverage to 4.5x; advances launches of Fibrinogen in Europe by Q4 2025 and the U.S. by H1 2026 post-FDA approval; strengthens partnerships including strategic alliances with Haier Group and Shanghai RAAS in China, Egyptian government for plasma self-sufficiency by 2026, and Canadian Blood Services; and terminated takeover discussions with Brookfield and the Grifols family in late 2024 while enhancing governance with independent directors.
