Seneca Growth Capital VCT plc Seneca Growth Capital VCT plc is a United Kingdom-based venture capital trust that invests in a diversified portfolio of unquoted and AIM/AQSE-quoted growth capital opportunities to deliver shareholders an attractive income stream and capital growth over the longer term; its investments span sectors including business services, pharma/biopharma, software, health and consumer, retail, and manufacturing; the trust maintains at least the minimum required percentage of assets in qualifying VCT investments, with the balance in cash and money market securities. The company operates two share classes, comprising the B Share Pool, which continues to deploy new investments and pursue realisations to support dividend payments, and the Ordinary Share Pool, which focuses on realising holdings to maximise value and return capital to investors. Managed by Seneca Partners Limited, a firm founded in 2010 by SME investment specialists, Seneca Growth Capital VCT plc holds net assets of approximately £12.6 million in the B Share class, with £8.8 million invested across 28 companies including 18 AIM-quoted positions as of late 2024. Headquartered at 9 The Parks, Haydock, Newton-le-Willows, England, WA12 0JQ, the company was incorporated on 22 May 2001, originally as Bioscience VCT plc, renamed Hygea VCT plc in 2006, and rebranded Seneca Growth Capital VCT plc in August 2018 following the launch of its B Share offer and appointment of Seneca Partners as investment manager. Recent developments include ongoing share buybacks, such as the purchase and cancellation of 205,495 B Ordinary Shares on 19 November 2025 at 45.32 pence per share; a 1.5 pence dividend declaration for B shareholders in early 2025 with payment in May; active deployment in 2023 with six new investments totaling £2.4 million including follow-ons and exits; and a new B Share fundraising offer launched in August 2023 targeting up to £20 million.
