Business
Invinity Energy Systems plc manufactures and sells vanadium flow batteries and related hardware for large-scale, high-throughput energy storage applications serving utilities, power producers, commercial and industrial customers, and grid-independent industries in markets across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and other regions. The company, formed in 2020 through the merger of redT energy plc and Avalon Battery Corporation and headquartered in London, United Kingdom, produces modular, factory-built systems including the Endurium platform for utility-scale projects exceeding 12 MWh with enhanced efficiency, scalability, and AI-optimized monitoring; Endurium Enterprise for commercial and industrial use; and the VS3 building block for systems ranging from under 250 kWh to tens of MWh, all characterized by non-flammable design, zero thermal runaway risk, unlimited cycling without degradation over 25-30 years, and full recyclability without rare earth materials. Invinity operates manufacturing and service facilities in the UK (Bathgate and Motherwell), Canada, USA, China, and Australia, with over 190 MWh deployed, contracted, or awarded across more than 90 sites in 17 countries. Recent developments include the late-2024 launch of Endurium and Endurium Enterprise products with a 43% delivered cost reduction versus prior VS3; a £57.4 million equity raise in May 2024 led by the UK National Wealth Fund to expand manufacturing and projects; a £25 million strategic investment in September 2025 from Atri Energy Transition and Next Gen Mobility to accelerate APAC expansion, supply chain diversification, and Indian market entry; partnerships such as a July 2025 license agreement with UESNT and September 2025 MoU with C&D Group for China, plus a deal with Frontier Power targeting up to 2 GWh under the UK LDES Cap and Floor scheme where 16.7 GWh of Endurium projects gained eligibility; approval to proceed on the 20.7 MWh LoDES project in the UK; and redomiciliation to a new UK public limited company effective January 2025.
