IndiGrid Infrastructure Trust (INDIGRID-IV.NS) is India's first and largest publicly listed Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) in the power transmission sector, sponsored by KKR. The trust owns, operates, and manages a diversified portfolio of power transmission networks, renewable energy generation assets, and energy storage projects that deliver reliable power across India; its core assets include 53 transmission lines spanning approximately 9,336 circuit kilometers, 16 substations with 25,050 MVA transformation capacity, 20 solar projects with around 1.1 GWp capacity, and 400 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) under construction, distributed across 20 states and 2 union territories. IndiGrid generates stable, AAA-rated cash flows from long-term transmission service agreements, solar power purchase agreements, and energy storage contracts, targeting investors with attractive yield distributions. Established on October 21, 2016, and registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) under InvIT regulations, IndiGrid is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with its registered office at Unit No. 101, First Floor, Windsor, Village KoleKalyan, off CST Road, Vidyanagari Marg, Kalina, Santacruz (East). The trust focuses on the power infrastructure segment, acquiring operational and under-construction special purpose vehicles (SPVs) from sponsors and third parties to expand its asset under management, which exceeds INR 29,300 crore as of recent updates. It serves utility-scale customers including central and state transmission utilities, emphasizing inter-state and intra-state transmission lines, solar generation, and emerging energy storage solutions. In recent developments, IndiGrid signed a share purchase agreement on December 2, 2025, to acquire Gadag Transmission Ltd., an inter-state transmission project in Karnataka, for an enterprise value of approximately INR 372 crore, strengthening its presence in renewable evacuation infrastructure. The trust announced plans in December 2025 to raise up to INR 1,000 crore in additional capital through rights issues, preferential allotments, or institutional placements, increasing its total fundraising limit to INR 2,500 crore following a prior INR 1,500 crore approval in October 2025, to fund growth opportunities and refinance debt. Earlier in 2025, IndiGrid expanded its green portfolio with a INR 21 billion acquisition of transmission and solar assets from ReNew, financed partly by INR 4,200 crore in AAA-rated non-convertible debentures, and partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for INR 4.6 billion in funding toward India's largest 180 MW utility-scale BESS project in Gujarat, alongside ongoing collaborations with TEECL for asset acquisitions and EPC services.
