Business
Jubilee Metals Group PLC is a diversified metals recovery company that processes tailings, waste, slag slurry, and run-of-mine ore to produce copper cathodes and concentrates, chrome concentrates, and platinum group metals including platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, osmium, and gold; it also recovers lead, zinc, vanadium, nickel, and cobalt from secondary materials overlooked by primary mining operations. The company operates through Copper and Cobalt, PGM and Chrome, and Other segments, with key facilities including the Sable Refinery and Roan Concentrator in Zambia, and the Inyoni, Thutse, and Windsor projects in South Africa; it processes third-party ROM ore for mining clients and holds interests in the Kitwe, Munkoyo, Project G, LG material, and other tailings resources. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in London, United Kingdom, Jubilee Metals Group PLC, formerly known as Jubilee Platinum Plc until its name change in December 2017, maintains operations in South Africa, Zambia, Australia, Mauritius, and the United Kingdom, targeting industrial materials markets with a focus on sustainable recovery that rehabilitates historical mining legacies. Recent developments include significant expansions in Zambia such as the Roan concentrator upgrade to 13,000 tonnes per annum copper equivalent capacity, Sable Refinery enhancement targeting 16,000 tonnes per annum copper with completion in 10 months for a combined 25,000 tonnes capacity, commencement of Munkoyo open-pit mining delivering 15,000 tonnes monthly ROM, ramp-up of Project G for additional 4,200 tonnes annual copper units, and the Large Waste Rock Project acquisition with a 15,000-tonne commercial trial at Roan in November 2024; in South Africa, chrome production reached a record 1,548,205 tonnes contributing 73% of FY2024 revenue, with two additional modules at Thutse commissioned in November 2024 toward a 2 million tonnes annual goal, alongside transition to 100% renewable private power in Zambia and prioritization of chrome amid PGM market weakness.
