Business
Komax Holding AG is a Switzerland-based global market and technology leader specializing in automated wire processing solutions. The company develops, produces, and markets machinery and systems primarily for automated wire processing, photovoltaic module production, and medical technology assembly. Its core product offerings are organized into three main business units: Wire, which includes cutting, stripping, crimping, and testing machines under brands such as Komax, Schleuniger, Cirris, and DiIT; Solar, which develops and manufactures equipment for crystalline and thin-film photovoltaic module production; and Medtech, focused on machines and systems for assembling medical devices including inhalers and insulin delivery systems. Komax also provides comprehensive services including inspections, calibrations, maintenance, warranty extensions, and training to optimize customer productivity. The company operates production facilities and sales networks across Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Africa, serving diverse sectors including automotive, industrial, infrastructure, aerospace, and railways. Founded in 1975, Komax Holding AG is headquartered in Dierikon, Switzerland. Recent strategic initiatives in 2024 and 2025 include the consolidation of production sites with closures and relocations in Germany, Japan, China, and Switzerland to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Komax also entered a strategic partnership by acquiring a minority 5% stake in E-Plus at the end of 2024, expanding into digital smart services. The company has enhanced its product portfolio through new machine launches such as the Alpha 550 G2 and Sigma 438 in 2024 and continues to invest heavily in research and development to maintain innovation leadership. These operational restructurings alongside product and market optimization position Komax for sustainable, profitable growth despite market challenges.
