Business
Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited delivers an extensive array of banking and financial solutions to a diverse client base across India and select international locations. Its operational structure is thoughtfully designed across key divisions to address varied financial requirements. The Treasury and Corporate Centre division is actively involved in capital markets, managing foreign exchange, derivatives, and strategic investments. It also serves as a primary dealer for government securities and oversees crucial balance sheet management functions. Within Retail Banking, the focus is on catering to individual customers, small businesses, and non-resident Indians. This segment provides a comprehensive suite of offerings including various deposit accounts such as savings, current, and term deposits, alongside a wide range of credit products like personal, home, and vehicle loans, as well as specialized agriculture and SME financing. Digital banking initiatives, notably the Kotak 811 platform, and a variety of credit and debit cards further enhance customer engagement. The Corporate and Wholesale Banking segment offers sophisticated lending and borrowing solutions, strategic advisory services, and transaction management to large corporations, conglomerates, public sector undertakings, and financial institutions. Commercial Banking plays a significant role in broader financial inclusion, extending loans for commercial vehicles, construction equipment, and tractors, primarily serving small and medium enterprises across various regions. Vehicle Financing specifically addresses the needs of auto dealers through wholesale trade finance and provides retail vehicle loans directly to consumers. Other Lending Activities encompass specialized financing solutions against securities, securitization, and microfinance through strategic acquisitions like Sonata Finance. Through its subsidiaries, the institution also provides a robust suite of related financial services. The Broking segment, primarily via Kotak Securities, offers brokerage income from market transactions and distributes various financial products. Advisory and Transactional Services, under Kotak Investment Banking, provide expertise in mergers and acquisitions, and manage equity and debt issuances. The Asset Management division is responsible for managing funds and investments on behalf of a broad client base through Kotak Mutual Fund. Furthermore, the Insurance segment, including Kotak Life Insurance and Kotak General Insurance (with Zurich Insurance Group holding a significant stake), offers a wide range of life and general insurance products. Kotak Mahindra Bank operates with an expansive network that, as of December 2023, included 1,869 branches and 3,239 ATMs across India, with an ongoing strategy to further expand its physical footprint. The bank also maintains an international presence with branches in GIFT City and DIFC, Dubai, along with international offices in major global financial centers such as London, New York, and Singapore. Established in 1985, Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited is headquartered in Mumbai, India. In a recent strategic move to enhance market participation and share affordability, the board approved a 1:5 stock split in November 2025.
