Business
Krishna Defence and Allied Industries Ltd. (KRISHNADEF.NS) manufactures and supplies defence and allied equipment for the Indian armed forces and paramilitary organizations. The company produces a range of products including ballistic nylon fabrics and accessories such as ballistic helmets, bulletproof jackets, ballistic vests, riot helmets, riot shields, and custom moulded components; naval products comprising hull ventilators, customized engine covers, seat cushions, life jackets, and pyrotechnic pistol cartridges; and aviation equipment like customized covers, air frame covers, protective canvas covers, and specialized textile products. It operates primarily in India, with headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, founded in 1994 as a public limited company focused on the defence sector serving government defence establishments, paramilitary forces, and export markets. In recent developments, the company secured significant orders including a Rs 29 crore contract from the Ministry of Defence in March 2024 for ballistic jackets and helmets, alongside a Rs 16.5 crore order from an export client in February 2024 for similar products, reflecting expanded order books and entry into international markets. Krishna Defence reported robust financial growth with revenue increasing 92% year-over-year to Rs 157 crore for FY24, driven by new defence contracts and diversification into naval and aviation segments. Additionally, it formed strategic partnerships for technology enhancement in ballistic materials and participated in funding through IPO proceeds in 2024 to bolster manufacturing capacity and R&D for indigenous defence solutions.
