KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG, headquartered in Cologne, Germany and founded in 1856, serves as a global engineering provider of cement plant technology, equipment, components, and services, including process engineering, project management, automation solutions, spare parts, plant optimizations, upgrades, retrofits, and decarbonization technologies; core products encompass pyroprocessing equipment such as preheaters, rotary kilns, clinker coolers, Pyrorotor alternative fuel processors, Pyrodedox NOx reduction systems, firing systems, and clay calcination units; grinding solutions including roller presses, separators, and impact hammer mills; and automation systems like KHD ProMax digital optimization, Scanex-IC kiln monitoring, Romix raw meal control, Rolcox roller press control, and burner management systems. The company operates through subsidiaries and sales offices across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, North Africa (EMENA), Asia-Pacific (APA), India, China, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), targeting cement producers worldwide with a focus on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and sustainable operations under its Cement beyond Carbon vision. Recent developments include major contracts awarded in 2024 and 2025, such as Humboldt Wedag India Private Limited securing deals with UltraTech Cement Limited for three new kiln lines, a raw meal grinding plant with two roller presses, and upgrades to five clinker grinding plants; a FEED contract with Heidelberg Materials for an oxyfuel kiln at its Geseke plant in Germany; a 900 tpd clay calcination plant EPC contract in Burkina Faso for Ciments de l’Afrique via AVIC International Beijing; a strategic agreement with Anhui Conch Cement for international business integration and decarbonization innovation; and completion of pyroprocessing and grinding upgrades at Holcim Romania’s Campulung plant, alongside ongoing modernization projects like the kiln line 7 upgrade at Cimpor Portugal’s Alhandra plant.
