Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG is a Swiss-based global leader in the premium chocolate sector that manufactures, markets, and distributes a wide range of chocolate and confectionery products; its core offerings include table chocolates such as bars in milk, dark, and white varieties, pralines, seasonal items like Lindt GOLD BUNNY and holiday figures, truffles notably the LINDOR brand, cocoa products including mass and powder, and other confectionery under brands such as Ghirardelli, Russell Stover, Caffarel, and Hofbauer/Küfferle. Founded in 1845 in Zurich and headquartered in Kilchberg, Switzerland, the company operates 12 production sites across Europe and the United States, including facilities in Kilchberg, Olten, Stratham (New Hampshire), Aachen (Germany), Oloron-Sainte-Marie (France), Induno Olona (Italy), and Gloggnitz (Austria); it sells through 38 subsidiaries, over 100 independent distributors, and approximately 560 company-owned shops in more than 120 countries worldwide, employing around 15,000 people. Recent developments include the completion in 2024 of a CHF 100 million expansion at its Olten Cocoa Center with new production lines, a modern loading bay, advanced laboratory, and doubled capacity since 2017 to supply European sites; ongoing expansion of the Stratham, New Hampshire facility, set to be fully operational in 2025 with automation enhancements to boost productivity amid US market growth; strong organic sales performance with CHF 5.47 billion in 2024 and raised 2025 guidance to 9-11% growth; and new product launches such as Dubai-style chocolate in white and dark varieties.
