Business
Loyal Metals Limited (ASX:LLM) is an Australia-based critical minerals and technology company focused on the exploration and evaluation of lithium, copper, and gold mineral properties in Tier-1 mining jurisdictions. The company holds interests in the Trieste Lithium Project, covering approximately 251 square kilometers along the Trieste Greenstone Belt in the James Bay Lithium District, Québec, Canada, adjacent to major spodumene-bearing projects operated by Rio Tinto/Midland Exploration, Azimut Exploration/SEQUEM, and Winsome Resources; the Hidden Lake Lithium Project located east of Yellowknife in Canada's Northwest Territories; and the Scotty Lithium Project in Nevada, United States. It is additionally advancing the high-grade Highway Reward Copper Gold Mine in Queensland, Australia, which boasts historical production of 3.65 million tonnes grading 5.7% copper and 260,000 tonnes at 4.5 grams per tonne gold. Loyal Metals targets markets in electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems, artificial intelligence data centers, and renewable energy grids, with operations spanning North America and Australia. Founded in 2020 and headquartered at 5/10 Johnston Street, Peppermint Grove, Western Australia, the company was formerly known as Loyal Lithium Limited until it changed its name to Loyal Metals Limited in June 2025 to reflect its broadened critical minerals portfolio. In July 2025, Loyal Metals secured a binding option agreement to acquire the Highway Reward Copper Gold Mine from private entity Highway Copper Gold, marking the initial phase of its 2025 strategic plan to expand beyond hard rock lithium into copper and gold amid elevated commodity prices. The company raised $3.5 million in November 2025 to fund exploration at Highway Reward, including deployment of modern techniques such as AI-driven data analysis, MobileMT geophysical surveys, and LiDAR imaging. Earlier in 2025, it outlined an ambitious "Ground to Grid" strategy emphasizing North American lithium supply chain integration for energy security, alongside plans for a spin-out of the Scotty Lithium Project to unlock non-dilutive shareholder value.
